The Ministry of Law’s mission is to ensure a sound and progressive legal infrastructure, intellectual property infrastructure and insolvency regime, and to optimise land resources, to support national goals. The ministry plays a key role in formulating and reviewing legal, intellectual property, land and insolvency, as well as legislation and strategies under its purview; providing legal and policy input for other Ministries' proposed Bills and programmes; and developing the legal services, alternative dispute resolution and intellectual property services. Departments, statutory boards and agencies under the Ministry of Law include the Community Mediation Centre, Insolvency & Public Trustee’s Office, Legal Aid Bureau, Intellectual Property Office of Singapore, Singapore Land Authority and the Land Surveyors Board.
